Searching for lowest gas prices is becoming increasingly difficult in the present climate, as oil and gas prices continue to be unpredictable.
Rising oil and gas prices have had lawmakers and consumers scrambling for solutions, but it is unclear, according to the experts, whether anything can be done to lower energy costs in the short term.
The price of oil has doubled over the past year. A barrel of crude oil cost about $65 in June 2007; it is currently hovering around $130 a barrel. High oil prices, driven by decreasing crude supplies and increasing demand could drive the U.S. economy into a recession,
Gas prices have skyrocketed as a result, with some American consumers paying more than $4 a gallon. The national average is $3.95 per gallon, according to a AAA survey published May 29. A year ago, the national average was about $3.20.
The lowest gas prices are currently around $3.81 in certain areas, with highest being in the region of $4.09
In their desperate search for short term relief, two presidential candidates, Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain and New York Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton, have proposed a federal gas tax holiday this year to provide some savings for American consumers.
Of course if you’re like me it won’t matter to you about finding lowest gas prices. I can afford to pay the rising costs because I belong to Its Good Business.
While you may need to find a job that allows you to telecommute or search for lowest gas prices, I have the best of both worlds. I work from home and earn enough money so that I don’t need to worry abut rising gas prices.
